Unfortunately my time in Bali had to end and I had to get back to the real world….well the real traveling world. It was time for me to embark on my next country; Thailand.

Thailand is a country known for its elaborate temples, its beautiful mountain ranges, its immaculate beaches in the south, a crazy capital city and of course it’s amazing food (Mmmm Pad Thai).

“And I Love Her….”

Yes, I did find love in Bali!!!!!

Her name is the Gili Islands. The Gili islands are a place of rest and relaxiation (and sometimes partying :) Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan are popular destionations for travelers who like white sand beaches, beautiful views of sun rises and sunsets and general tranquality. No cars are allowed on any of these islands so your only means of transportation are horse and carriage carts, the iron horse (a bicycle) and of course your feet. The best part about staying on these islands is that you’ll realize that you don’t want to go anywhere.

Thailand (16)

The south of Thailand is known for its beautiful tropical islands. Some of the more popular include Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi and of course Koh Phangan. Unfortunately due to my time constraints I could only visit one of these islands and I choose Koh Phangan.

After a few days of hanging out on the beach, I decided to head up to Ubud for some Zen and relaxation. Ubud, which is often referred to as Bali’s spiritual capital, has become increasingly popular with tourists over the years. Ubud boasts beautiful tiered rice fields, tons of ancient temples, places to do yoga, arts and crafts and of course really great food.

Bali beach1

4 Days in Bali turns to weeks. As I mentioned in the last post I initially came to Bali, Indonesia to learn to dive. My plan was to spend 4 days in this region diving and then move on to some of the great sites of southern Thailand. Well that plan failed miserably.
