Instead of rushing to make it to the Perhentian Islands which are supposed to be beautiful, we figured we’d save some time and grab the two hour ferry up to Langkawi. When you’re spending two to three days in one place it begins to get a bit tiring and we both needed a day of limin’ (Caribbean way of saying chilling or hanging out) and Langkawi provided just that. Out next stop was Georgetown, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, the capital of Penang and a beautiful little city. From the British Colonial buildings to Indian temples and Chinese temples and clan-houses, the architecture of this small city is very impressive. We took a minibus (setup by our hostel) from the Cameron Highlands directly to Georgetown which is located in the province of Penang, Malaysia. Cameron Highlands, the land O’ tea

After leaving the concrete jungle of KL we made our way north to Cameron Highlands, Malaysia’s tea country. We decided to spend most of our time here hiking because being in the highlands the weather was much cooler than in KL and there are some really nice trails though tea plantations. If you have only a few days in Malaysia and want to really see the country, I would probably advise staying away from here and visiting other places.
